I celebrate the life of our dear Aunt Donna. She, along with our cousin Maya, has always been and will be one of the reasons why our dear uncle Marcelo has smiled.

I wish I had more memories with my Tía. Because of the distance and life craziness, maybe this was not possible; but the few I have are very special. The first memory I have of her I was just a kid, we were in Ecuador for my Grandma’s birthday and I remember her being funny, trying to speak Spanish and making jokes with my Dad. Years went by and when I decided to come to the US 20 years ago, I was having a really hard time deciding what to do with my life and where to settle. I had the opportunity to go to Chicago to spend the holidays. All I remember was her sweetness, her funny jokes, the way she took care of me and how she made me feel welcome and confortable (She even put up a little Christmas Tree just for me… ;). She always gave me the best advice and she basically told me to never quit and to always comeback to her house if I ever needed it. I will always cherish those conversations I had with her, and how loved she made me feel. I will always have a very special place in my heart for her, for all that she did for me and the love she had for my crazy Tío and my Cousin Maya.
May she rest in peace. Love you Tia. ❤️

I have had the pleasure of Donna’s friendship as a neighbor in Arizona! Donna loved my family but she especially loved our cats and Luke in particular! Luke knew when Donna was home and would sit outside her Az house until she would come out! He would sit there even when she wasn’t home! Loved seeing them together! I will remember them together and will remember her as a funny witty loving woman that cared deeply for friends and family! Hugs to Marcelo and Maya…Donna you will be missed! ❤️❤️

Since we were kids, we had few opportunities to share with tia Donna but we all enjoyed the few moments we were together and we specially enjoyed the stories about her learning to speak Spanish, like when she played cards with her sisters and mother in law and asked for the “pasaje para la gringuita”. We are going to always cherish those moments and have her in our thoughts and our hearts.

My last memory of DOONA. On April of 2018 we went to Phoenix, with Marcelo. I stay for a week with them. Visit diferent places. She took me to a market and I brought a small purse to take in my next trip to Bolivia. We had a lot of fun. Went to a lot,s of restaurants.
I miss you Doona, until we see again. God will bless you in heaven,
